I tell people, “I was a Republican before I started paying attention.”
I spent 28 years as a newspaper reporter and editor, so I have a pretty good idea when something doesn’t pass the smell test. And there’s a lot out there in the current political landscape that just plain stinks.
Mostly, I just want to help people see points of view from which others would shield them out of fear that people might gain some insight or perspective. I think informed opinions trump beliefs that arise out of fear and bigotry and disinformation. Propaganda is the tool of the evil. If you disagree with me on something, offer your point of view. I will listen, but I’ll probably respond, too. I’m fully confident that my views are well grounded. So, let’s talk.
